From Inside an LSD Revelation

By WillowGreybird

What were we doing?
Us and our ragtag band of misfits,
Eager and afraid
To grow up too fast.
We sat in stoner circles
Instead of school desks,
and tried way too hard to make it work.
Nothing but a couple of kids,
Waiting to find our places.
We had no ideas about the world around us,
So we watched it all go by
From the inside of a cloud.

But as long as the weed was purple
And our eyes were red,
We were doing alright.

As our endless Indian Summer
Faded once again into fall,
We said goodbye
to clear skies and open grow,
and hello
to fields of white and spoons of gold.
Some of us fell
To unthinkable lows
While the rest of us
Caught an unbelievable high.

Too long has passed,
Since that time of infinite inebriation,
When we were all
Up where the world didn’t hurt.
I miss
The risk,
Each hit
And every near miss.
Those months
Of hook ups and come downs,
And we never even knew
How lost we really were.

"And we never even knew How lost we really were." - that ending really added a depth and understanding to this piece, rather than just nostalgia for a "simpler" time. Great flow, wonderful imagery and brought home by the end. Well done! Ciao, T/S Scholar

I like the flow of it but sometimes it was interrupted with some words but overall I like it and the story
