Iron Rising

Iron Rising

Until the day I die, I swear I'll never fall before my fears-

Transform with every passing day, Becoming stronger for my pain and tears-

I've sworn an oath upon the ashes of ones who could not remain-

I'll be reduced to rubble before extinguishing my flames-

Survival is my only option, I can't yet meet Valhalla's gates-

Every single breath I take, feel my existence resonate-

Recovering lost bonds, reinforcing sealed vows-

My blood is dired, but scars don't fade, the only time to live is now-

Remember what I said that day, I stood before the wake-

You ascened from the Pyre as the flames caressed my face-

I promised you that I'd go on, that I'd live long before my grave-

That I'd live for you, to make up for the life you did forsake-

This weight's been lifted off my chest, I can finally breathe-

My muscles burning as my tears fall and dissolve into the sea-

As tattoos upon my skin embrace my lasting cuts-

Restless, rising every day, still driven on by boiling blood-

There's so much more of this world I need to see-

So as of this moment, I'm breaking free-

Because of all my friends, I can't be content while so far gone-

Even if I bleed again, I will embrace the rising Dawn.

This one gave me chuckle (in a good way.) I liked the symbolism of images, it reminded me of The Doors. :)

It's good to see you frequenting these parts, again, and returning with a piece like this makes it all the more serendipitous; a piece that can't help but exude an air of triumph upon its recital. Hopefully, this is a sign of more pieces to come. Scholar
