The Gauntlet

By Phalanx

When you turn back, do it to feel.
Those echoes don't lie.
Sometimes we just get lost.
You were better then.
Not so smart,
Innocent with the way you blasted the music from your heart.
You didn't care who listened but,
You hoped they'd like it.
I might just try my battered hands
At bending your ears back home,
For old times sake.
I miss the way we smiled.
It's ok to dream like we have bones to break.
Something in God, i'm sure smiles on defiance for survival
In that burning.
This light is translucent.
Carcinagins and immortality.
Nothing lives forever here.
