Society these days.

We live in a society where
eating nothing is the new diet
and cutting is the new trend
where teenage kids spend all their time posting
selfies on the internet to get attention
when they could walk in the living room
and spend time with mom and dad

We’re raised in this society
to not show emotion
because emotions are a sign of weakness
so you’re not allowed to cry
because crying isn’t accepted

Strong’s the new tradition
but how do you know strength if you’ve never been weak?
Strength seems to be defined by how long you can fake a smile
before anyone notices how superficial it really is.

We live in this world
where most of the women have experienced sexual harassment
or even worse, molestation or rape.
And every other kid lives without a dad or a mom.
Some even live without both.
Do you see what’s going on?

We live in a place where
people are comparing how bad their lives are
instead of helping each other out.

We live in a world where suicides could be prevented
But people feel so down
Maybe they just need a smile
So smile at someone you see today,
because you have no idea what they have going on
