Gunpowder and Ribbons

By Phalanx

When we grow new skin we don't save the old suit.
Though, we can't forget where or who we were.
We don't have to go back but,
Comfort is a trap and it catches up so well.
I'm trying to believe again, not because of any particular revelation,
More just the idea of believing enough in something
Not to put it down. Too often we stop half way and ask why
We never got our happy ending.

You can't finish the story if you stop reading.
Changing course in a world where we hunger for change so much
Makes it easy to get distracted and tell ourselves
We're on the right track when we never learned to finish anything.

When your lost and you know it,
This is how you begin to find your way,

By finishing what you start.
