As Dreams Lie Still

By Christopher7xii

Drifting in the night you fail to realize
Eyes get heavy and limbs are paralyzed
The sleeplessness begins to hypnotize
Your sensibilities are gonna slip
And logic is quick to flip
Now it's time to be you without a script
Left there not knowing what ya need to know

You start to believe the magic that you see
But what you see is a me that can't just be
A strong individual
or the residual
A criminal , a saint, a hero or billionaire
All these visions of your life just a bit bigger
So many lives, yet so many lies

Let the story unfold of what your mind will show
Follow the beats of insanity and go with the flow
Dreams are said to remind you of what you can't let go
Fucking, falling, driving, or flying
You refuse to ignore the obvious disparity
Let yourself be swept away with the insincerity
Because when you arise
It'll be the promsie that fills your eyes
Comprised of the notion to never compromise
They give you the strength to be what you become
Filling you with the feeling of what's to be done
For better or worse the day has now begun

Wake up, wake up, wake up
Our dreams are nothing but lies
