Missing You

As I lay on my bed trying to sleep
A tear rolls down my cheek
I turn to look where you should be
But emptiness is all I see
Little more than a week ago you were there
As we laid in the safety of each others arms with out a care
We were watching movies and playing games
Paying no attention to the passing days
Trying to make our selves believe
The day would never come when you would have to leave
But no matter how hard we were trying
One of us would wake from our sleep to the other silently crying
Wipe away the tears
And try to calm the nagging fears
Still the day came that we had to say good bye
Crying on each others shoulders asking “Why?”
Why do we have to do this again?
Why does it always have to come to an end?
Always ending being alone
Having no more than a voice on the phone
An empty bed
And memories in our heads
Though you’ve been gone for nearly two weeks
I denied it so much that it just caught up with me
The tears keep coming and it’s just not fair
There’s an empty space in my bed and you should be there
All I want is to be in your arms
Laying with you keeping you warm
To be able to look in your eyes
And have some comfort as I uncontrollably cry
As I wipe away another tear
I have to realize that you’re not here
And all I can do
Is hold on to memories and pictures and keep missing you.
