I travel by night

By silentninja

By night I travel
I'm blind
My skin blisters through the ice
As I hunt for new poisons

By night I travel
I'm blind to my addiction
I have run out of places to hide
Poison leaves me unable to move

Every open door is a fortress of pain
I have to look
I have to see

Every open window echoes the betrayal
I deny it as I look
I do not believe what I see

Everyone gathers
Lured in by the same leash
We bare our scars
All vulnerable before the beast

Melodies play
As the lost souls gather in pain
The sound of a false profit tells us what we want to hear
Then we all fall

Some to our pillows
Some to the floor
Some to the pavement
Some never land...

I never fall
I keep traveling
Upon my dark horse
Into sunrise I burn....

The night leaves me
Alone in the day
By day I am suffering
By the voices of broken poets

Their pain becomes my own
I change before their eyes
Once human, now human two point one
I hide in my concrete fortress

By night I travel
To commit the same mistakes
My heart becomes blind to the pain
I drink my own poison

By night I travel
Upon a steel horse
My lies leave me to travel alone
My truths leave me to travel alone

Everyone is another face
Another lie
Another truth

Everyone is another body
I crave warmth
I crave pain

Give me your pain
I lost my own
Your tears
Taste so sweet as we burn by sunlight

You will not be with me tomorrow
I travel alone
Into the night
Dreams burn in sunlight
