Foxhole.

By Malice In Wonderland

Forgive me.

This is how I lose people
how i forget.

I'm well versed in
withdrawing
from the world

Hiding behind
my battered walls
and evasive tactics

So a person

Sincere
and honest

Is about the scariest thing in the world to me

Something I rarely find

So please pardon
the barrel
kissing your temple
and my knife
Dancing just above your jugular
as you innocently listen to me

Wheeze and stutter
because
my vocal chords are coated in silence
and emotion
isn't my cup of tea

I promise
to try

But i'm letting this end badly.

And the mountains of pride and regret
make these lands
silent and cold.

Forgetting hope
in favor of hide and seek

So many have lost
while I stare at their last steps
staggering and broken.

I guess nobody can touch me
anymore.

i do think that many of us are taught to cut our selves off from the real world... it is a habit that is sooo hard to break Scholar

The dance after a single irreversible bloody cut (of hiding from the world), what an image.

Fantastic crafting! There is a calmness reverberating from the foxhole although the lines carry that intense anxiety of interacting. Thank you for sharing this! Respectfully, blue angel
