Unyielding Drought

By mikeygreenleaf

If I should tempt my maker's mind
Goad the notions of divine
Deaf ears do bed with discontent
And bear the children of dissent
Adorn your words with rhetoric
Now you may mark me heretic
For propoganda withers here
In the absent grasp of fear
Spread your poison to the young
Diluted dogma on your tongue
Use your stance upon the meek
Direct your focus to the weak
But you cannot on my land sprout
No kinder words suffer to tout
I'd offer you no recompense
You charlatans of elegance
I'd sooner dash your closet thought
Blind the eyes to what you've wrought
Persistence is a two edged sword
From which a falsehood cannot ward
Awareness shall not flee me now
Yoked same as oxen to the plow
That tills these acres of despair
And breaths the shallow arrid air
