Would This Bridge Would Crumble

By quantummysticist18

Would this bridge would crumble
So I wouldn't have to jump;
Voices murmur, mumble
In a sad, confusing clump.
Would these trees would burn
So that I wouldn't have to light them;
Monsters spring from darkness
And I'm not prepared to fight them.
Would this town would flood
So that I wouldn't need the water
To drown those helpless bodies
Like some cruel perverted father.
Would this wind would shiver
So I wouldn't have to shout
And level houses with my breath
Till no man stood about.
Would this bridge would crumble
So I wouldn't have to jump;
Snakes arrive and coil round
The ancient forest stump.
