Deny thine mother

By cherietree

How could you hurt me,
the one your meant to love.
You treat me like the hero
when you should save my heart.

I only wanted happiness,
to live in blissful ignorance.
But you destroyed my laughter
in a sea of manipulative being.

The world seems to think I'm strong,
but all I feel is weak.
I only keep on fighting to keep me  on my feet.
your death will bring me happiness,
but also bring me sorrow.

I wish I could say you loved me,
if you were gone tomorrow.
You say it every evening,
but I know the truth.

You will always love you more,
but refuse to tell the truth.
I hope one day you'll realise,
I've had to fight my own demise.

I wish you would understand what you've done to me.

Well you would if you truly looked into my eyes.

Relatable piece, very heartfelt and personal. Raw emotion is always welcomed, Cherie.
