Clay Soldiers

By Phalanx

This drink coaches me,
Provoking sides of myself.
I drown them out.
The silence inside us
Hurt's enough, I love you baby.
Man doesn't remember God
When there's only barbed wire.
This desert landscape where we claim dust
Starves us all.
You get used to the silence.
At this point I'm breaking glass
Just to crawl through something that
Pukes life just before it dies.
"I'm not the only one dying here,"
Is what I say to myself when I see
So many couples.
I don't want to die like this.
