Portrait of a Morning

By BetaWolfinVA

I wake up, blinking in confusion
i can barely think cohearently
i feel my head injury pulsing
is it because i slept with the injury up
instead of down or simple dehydration?
.
i get in the tub as i usually do
to the tune of "you're wasting water"
and "you don't respect me"
when this is what i need
to do to reach the abbysmal level
of competence i've had for the last year
.
i get up and shower,
while still half dead i get dressed
i put music on my phone
and you complain about that
i want rylee to hear it too
.
rylee and i walk to the car
i wonder if its a mile, or more
our road is being paved
we talk about the things we see
stinky trash, bugs, and pretty dress
.
i drop her off at the daycare
they need more for beginning of curriculum fees
my daughter is two soon
will i still have my daughter when they find how i really am?
will i still be able to adopt her?
.
.
.

Interesting piece, hints at a back story I don't know but can imagine quite well based on the details provided. Ciao, T/S Scholar
