Lifeboat

By Phalanx

She took her tooth brush and I died a little.
I knew she made up her mind
In just a few words.
Sometimes "I love you" doesn't make it past the pain.

Don't call me names when I know who I am.

I still love you even if you don't want this.
The dreams, even in waking won't
Telephone me otherwise.
Hell or something much worse, I paint because of you.
Pissing in the wind reminds you that
Death doesn't alway's mean, bones in the ground.
I like the way I burn with a heartbeat,
Remembering the way your hands covered my face
When you told me to die respectfully.

I'm translucent now with words I left behind.
I know now I can love and not die here.

I want to take you with me,
