Second Hand Baby

By SickSanityJenn

Second hand baby, wanting attention
Someone to hug, someone to listen
Nobody wants her, nobody's there
Starting to notice that nobody cares

Hand me down doll, already used
Already hurting, broken and bruised
Sits all alone, nobody to play with
Starts to see how ugly the world is

Thrift store infant, such a lovely one
Tiny fists always reaching for love
Hands always hurting her tender skin
No room for defiance, she just gives in

Second hand baby left all alone
Hand me down doll stuffed in a home
Thrift store infant learns to be silent
Nobody hurts her long as she's quiet
