To Her...I Sacrifice

"To Her...I Sacrifice"

"I need some air," was what she said
The statement bears now, the weight of lead
Outside we found the trail that was bled
My only friend missing, and now feared dead
Try as I might, I couldn't clear my head
Evident was the path, by which they fled
Easily followed against white, droplets of red

A warning was spoken, not for her to look
My mind was set, to bring back that they took
I swore retribution, right hand on the Book
Though not from the cold, my hands still shook
I alone engaged pursuit, all caution then forsook
Emotion rushing downhill, like a babbling brook
The party responsible, would soon be overtook

Moving steady and silent, but not at all slow
I knew from the map, which way they must go
Then I saw her, motionless, facedown in the snow
So much crimson color, extinguished was her glow
These creatures mocked, swaying to and fro
They pranced around, as if to put on a show
Unaware now of the watchful eyes of a new foe
Poised and ready to strike, as my anger did grow

She's gone, should've been me to pay the price
So I decided it was time, to make use of the device
This weapon is as painful, as it is precise
I would once again dispense the anti-life
The pulse separates skin from flesh from bone like shattering ice
One layer at a time, they would all beg me to be nice
For a time, their slow gruesome demise would almost suffice
And now I hunt their kind, and each one...To Her...I Sacrifice!
