Tell me all your thoughts on god

By BetaWolfinVA

God has been part of
man's life since the first hunter
prayed to the spirit
of the aurochs that he killed...
hoping to placate it's ire
.
Science is little
more than man's attempt to learn
to encompass god
and the universe in his
knowledge of all that exists
.
we have priests and their
flock of fools conditioned to
consider their souls
rather than their very lives
and somehow faith beats theory?
.
priests are not needed
to reach god ... at most they help
religion's war with
science can only be lost
god used tools and dice and rules
.
"let there be light" is
the big bang, science theory
evolution is
little more than one of gods
tools, geologic eras
.
synergy, hope, life
Christianity is not
the one true way claimed
by those that would rule the world
it is aught but one of them

First off, your poems title caught my attention because the same sentence can be found in Dishwalla's song "Counting Blue Cars. lol. Secondly, I love your take on this subject matter. Some seek something greater than themselves to learn from, others seek something greater than them for protection, and others capitalize on that need with cruel intent, or pure guidance. Science in a sense is the same, but more for the simple sake of understanding. Both clash, but both can't explain everything. However, science wins a vote from me, because its relentless in finding truth. Religion just kinda stops where it is when it has enough backers, regardless of what fallacies it entertains.... lol Don't mind me. I'm just an agnostic thinker. XD Great philosophical piece! ;D

my take is informed by the fact that at one time most of the scientists were christian monks... Science and Religion are not the mutually exclusive concepts that the modern Religious Conservative BASTARDS would want us to believe. Religious Conservatives are what make this Fiscal Moderate to Conservative, Cog in the Military Industrial Complex, and Technology Supremicist into a Self Declared Liberal. Scholar
