Follow The White Rabbit

By mikeygreenleaf

If I could prove that love exists
Romance hides behind my lips
Make you see you aren't alone
Bite your lip and not my own
Look in your eyes and not away
Close my ears to all hearsay
Quell the storm inside my head
Colorblind, but I see the red
Is that my blood pooling below?
Blade twisting ever slightly slow
Assurance that you were my friend
"Face value" seems to be the trend
Put your feelings up my arm
Skin tingly with metallic charm
Inside the vein ritual complete
Chasing rabbits through its streets
Queen of hearts chases for naught
This hare will never settle caught

Let Alice sit with her fancy tea cups. The real Wonderland holds missives of the dark. A politely rhymed poem, that had an unforgiving tone. Enjoyed.
