around necks of realism 
with hands holding hollow 
laughter at the conflicts 
lives that slaughter idealism 
and drink the flood that swallows

soiled and severed ties 
and buried remnant affections 
plucking the heart-strings gate 
stricken scars raised to skies 
glints haunting the deflections 
back to epiphanies of an end-date
