I killed her Butterfly

By Dark Unicorn

Ridges of blackened snow reflect in my eyes,
I never meant to torment her with lies,
A black veil of memory devours my face,
Memories I thought I'd buried in that place,
That place beyond, where clouds burn free,
Evil dies and she forever stays with me.

With a tiny flick from her rusted nails,
The thin shield of glass woven around me fails,
To keep all my darkness hidden within,
So I grasp her tongue and wrap it around her skin,
As she falls to the floor, beautiful young thing,
I die another death, become another being.

Cold and paralysed I watch her seep into the ground,
Her once inextinguishable lightning fades away with the sound,
Death comes to me on his shiny black steed,
And we both drift into hell with unfathomable speed,
She stretches out her hand and sets the butterfly free,
And that was when I realised the butterfly was me.
