Amber Alert

By freudian-slip

People might tell you there is infinite power in words
but I say it's complete horseshit
The power is in the moment
and the sweat that builds
prior to it

it's the second in time
you fully taste
excuses and lies are taking the place
of mutual apologies
followed by the would-be embrace
that is meant to eliminate temporary pain
and confusion

I expressed sudden anger and ugliness
No sugar dipped attempt
at ignoring the obvious
I hate my intuition
for there is no gift in perceiving
Intended distance
or sudden loss of interest

but it's real to me...

I openly admit
there's no question how terrified of abandonment
and rejection
I have become
having less to do with the actual reality
of me minus you

Than one day
once again
and not so soon

Repeating all of this pointless and destructive nonsense
with someone equally undeserving
and new

I hope not, honey. For both our sakes I hope the forecast is one day dead wrong. I really like this.
