Before the Show Begins

By lupus tenebrae

The lights dim
in odd intervals

until the people
around me meld
with their respective

shadows, and all
I can do is
stare headlong

into empty space:
letting my mind roam.

And so my shows are few and far between. Part of that thrill (that deep thrum inside almost as if my heart is holding its breath, exuding an energy that threatens to break free of me) is those who surround me. i know not a one. They look at me, i search their many differences, and hold myself away from thought as if we are all one family. So it is. :)
