The Sun's Passionate Dismissal

By SickSanityJenn

A gaze nearly dark as night
Eyes blaze, hot as the Sun
I'm burning but it feels right
Quickly my mind goes numb

Just a glance and it's gone
Distant flames and a cold moon
A second isn't very long
But just enough to swoon

Obligated to touch the Sun
I climbed atop the sky
But the heavens came undone
And I fell back into the night

I tried to find my voice
Silence was all I found
I'm tortured from within
Without making a sound

Crying out from the void
In the wake of all I've done
Everything I've destroyed
Just to touch the Sun

I like the link you form between love and the sun/heat here. Although it could have been passion that you acutely felt, hinted at in the last stanza. Best I have read from you thus far - Crim

...it's a well spun tale. climbing the sky disturbs & angers the guardians of heaven. quite an adventure...

What beastly desires could compel one To suffer the inferno of the Sun?
