Should be safe

By Adam

At work you’re safe, you’re told every day.
In the parking garage, not to be fought
Just for some pay

Yet on Saturday after drinking
A guest wants some help
Not on the clock, but no worries
I’ll always reach out

My tie in your hand, around my neck tight
You should let go, before I start to fight
Panicked now choking, I warn you –
last time
Punches, kicks, and knees, I have to go flee
If I don’t my life ends, while working for free

Still coughing, I cough, trying to call
Police and security, please come, running, come all
I want their help now, I need it here fast
Take him to jail sir, and don’t let him out

I’m glad It’s over, I’m glad I’m ok
But now I’m scared, to go out-of my way!

And one asshole makes life so freaking difficult and stressful. I'm sorry you had to deal with this :(

  • A former member wrote: "Guest"...do you work at a hotel? That can be a weird job. You have a good nature to help someone off-the-clock, but destiny doesn't seem to be overly picky. It can, indeed, happen to you, as you now know. It can definitely put a strain on the trust-level with complete strangers. That's a frightening experience you had. Glad you fought back.

I have no way to comment on this. Partially because I don't understand it, and partially because I'm scared I understand it. Either way it has left me to pondering....
