My Piano's on Fire (Spontaneous Combustion)
By megaprime81
As i lightly tickle the ivory
Fire starts burning oh so slow
Pouring forth from agony
The keys play their own
Melancholy tune
Someone cries "Bring some water!"
And i, as a command, tell them "No."
"That boy's on fire!"
I hear them exclaim
I won't even think
Of extinguishing the flame
Inspired by fire
As it burns my soul
Charcoal black are we both burnt
The piano and I are fused
Into one burning being
Translating sound
Into music as we go
Someone shouts "Encore!"
But by then both
Piano and I are
No more
Good ridence
I've got a bigger audience now

Virtuoso performance pulled from the wreckage of ones torment. Canvass turning to sullen ashes before fading to black. Very nice write

Now there is an interesting image. You only get burnt when playing with fire if you feel it as pain, it has its purging aspects as well. Really liked this, very unique.

I like this, its very original... It has such a feeling to it.. to be connected to music. I can understand that feeling, but to be connected to the music you can make, I unfortunately could never understand. You made me a little bit closer from this read.. Great write :)
