pulsing affinities
By cadymae
Its head jerked up startled
It was true, that "I'm sorry."
Which meant it was over
The flares puffed out
damp sad smoke curled
from its being
it dropped its head in weariness
...
The paw was slender, cool, tender
The arm hairless
the face hirsute
the expression
patient
***
Its head turned
crown now upon bent knee
tho chin still upon dank stone
***
The stars parallaxed
the paw stroke
the neck relaxed
the fondness began
***
affinity born of despairing solitudes entwining
unlikely beings at rest together
two hearts pulsing
***

For some reason, I was imagining the strangest, most intriguing and unique yet also affectionate rescue cat known to man. Until I realised that smoke and hairless arms do not make a good cat.

It is a poem about Dragon/Troll love. Wow! I'm always AMAZED at what folks take from a poem!
