.~* reclamation *~.
By NikesRain
there is never enough time
to learn the all the sorrows
stained upon your every eyelash
much less try to pronounce
every scar in your heartbeat
but i will look
and i will listen
sway forward and back
like a moon flower kissed girl
on an old tire swing
hung from a twisted tree
enraptured by the sunset
expiring with the dawn
set in a aged hollow
unwilling to leave
.
if i put enough of myself
into the fireflies you need
i would wash your sadness
with my own sighs
hum your scars faded
with calla lily fingertips
while we spoon between constellations
this is what moon flower girls do
in the push and pull
of star kissed hours
unrealistic expectations
the moonbeam rope tied tightly
around the old tire swing
flying through the gloaming
dying with the dawn
.
you say there isn't enough time
i reply there never was
but at least lets be brave enough
to let me try

the middle and last verses.... wow. a ballerina's tiptoe balance between the ethereal and the all too real... you take me away with words. i can only imagine your strength as a lover.... gorgeous, as always. i love you, my rainy doe. xo

endings make poetry. that ending, it made me me lift my hand to my mouth, and say "oh my." the true emotion seeping from these words is enough to make anyone either want to read again, or just walk away. I believe I'll read it again.
