*~Deep Down~*

By Deathkitten

The sun rises again
& it's morning now
She made it through
last night's sin
Knowing not how,
why, or when
So she lays in bed
Still...
In a cold ash sadness,
unlike her usual
violent effort
to maintain composure
She grieves
eloquently,
with only
the blue under flame
in her cooling heart
Dying to move
& surviving to die
slowly,
gradually,
painfully...
but she's aware
if she goes too deep,
or takes too much
it would be enough
A burning desire
for change,
life & hope
lifts her from her bed
Breathing is a joke,
but it moves her
How does it convey
it's power so effortlessly?
Inhaling a cigarette,
she sits & crosses her legs
exposing a carnival of scars
Some fresh...
like day old
deli-cut
Virginia Ham
Dialing on her cell,
she begins the day anew
Deep down...
she's grateful
& hates it too,
but somewhere inside
her lifeless mortality
...is a beast
that craves more
Forcing a fight
to the finish
So she plays along
Walking...
Dancing...
Humming a dirge
Growing strong

'Tis truly a day in the life... fighting to rise and also fighting the urge to see crimson flow. Finally giving in and it at times is such a sweet release. I live there babe... i know... Scholar

You & me both. Well...does this mean we have no need in those few days a month? Mine is on it's way. It never was as satisfying. Hmm thankies :)

I had to take this in with the light of the day anew, as you have done with the nights hungered nightmare that lies on your flesh, so self aware of this harsh life coursing through your veins and rearing it's distorted smile at you.;)~ This is an enlightening write! Well done ~*_*~

Hard to see light, but pushing forward in attempt to find it is always a nice challenge. Thanks, Kendra :)

really cool jess, a ray of hope in this one as a struggle still ensues. pain will always be there. you just have to smile sometimes and say, im not having it today. i liked this poem, it does have a sadness but i sense hope and victory over another day lived. awesome poem!
