5 AM Thoughts

By Chalin

take everything
i offer.
my hands burn
from the weight.

wait for
all you want,
forget about your
promises and

Possiblities;
days count down,
waiting for a decision.

you could come home.
i won't expect
your presence to
alter the balance

all you want is
to see my bruised
naked body sobbing
for your touch.

There's something about being awake in the early morning hours that seems to spark poetic inspiration... Very nice write.

I really liked this piece, too. It is simple yet has so many avenues. The last stanza is great.

Poignant and frantic, pulling he reader ever further down into its maze of meaning and possibilities, excellent. ~ mw

Too many directions this one could veer off into. I will speak of the first one I ran...even though I might be totally off. I thought resigned...giving in and in a way...liking it. Enjoyed this. :)
