~Element: Oceanic~

By Deathkitten

This sea of salty fluid
rises to a broken shore
Drawing back into a hole
& taking sand's grit in
Only to create an oceanic whirlpool
in the presence of a whirlwind
There are pleasant things
residing inside me
Often fighting battles
or running to survive
Raspy waves pass over
exposing sea foam
& the heart of my home
goes out as far as the eye can see
Seeming like it's never ending
so they try to stay afloat on me
Some sink & drown
Some will take me
for granted
They will litter
but won't destroy me
I'll extinguish the hottest fire
& soften the ground
you learned to walk on
Flooding your existence
& your unappreciation
for this element I am made of
Pray there's no monsoon
That there's no tsunami
Don't bother praying to a god
I see you hiding behind your mommy
As soon as I am underestimated
i'll show you my breathtaking beauty
when you see what i've left
as gifts after the storm
you'll see who does the haunting

That's what happens when you sit in the surf, you take a bit of the beach home with you! (HA). Marvelous piece! I'll be on the lookout now for hurricane Jess, coming soon since this is the season. Very much enjoyed this cerebral bit of artistry!
