Acquiesce to Longing

By lupus tenebrae

The way the sea acquiesces so
impresses upon the moon;
not in craters, but hearts

beating and synchronizing, coming to rest
in the hands of someone dear,
someone I once mentioned

in verses, in songs I couldn’t compose
without rhyme, repetition
or metaphors of her.

And her laces of promise, once woven
into my ribcage, clutch at
her surname in safety.

    Old stuff or not, this was beautiful... "And her laces of promise, once woven into my ribcage, clutch at her surname in safety." that ending... so tragically romantic. love it! xoxo

    Protect that surname lest the world know what was lost to you - but then she probably knows it too, cheers Wolfie!
