siren-song
By FadedBlues
cast out like weeds and worn-out fashion
clarion bells sedate my passion
abjure the siren-song of love
and all the treachery thereof
a lonely heart is still defined
by sight of love, but love is blind
lovers to loneliness are doomed
as sailors on a shoal, marooned
confine my tears to poem and prose
beware the thorn that slew the rose
conceal my wounds aesthetically
and love will not remember me

these by far are my fave lines: "confine my tears to poem and prose beware the thorn that slew the rose conceal my wounds aesthetically and love will not remember me". Thorns have a wicked way of popping up when you lest expect them...

Oh, and It also reminded me of a song by parkway drive called The Siren Song, just because of the title!

beautifully crafted, "as sailors on a shoal, marooned" the lonely feeling to be left ashore-even the muse of one's passion (fishing) is inaccessible, deeper to where one may be scared to venture.
