I borrow heartache & sorrow
to feel through blinding light
and put up the fight against tomorrow
replacing it with a shield made of hatred
scarred by old dirty stones
and sharpened knives in search of my back
and the semi-dangerous threats
filled with fury & rage
from a distance
that never inflicts as much pain
as one would hope
Still...
it hasn't taken over me
or my heart
Not hatred
It just lives in the dark
where it's cool
and free of heavy burden
forced repeatedly amongst our kind
Yes- It will feel
and it will kill
YOU
Slowly...
while it protects me
Never fucking me over
It was trapped only once
so don't fluff your ego
I don't mind co-existing
I find it...
rather interesting
So let's play nice
and all get along
I'd hate to hear that broken record
You know...
