Broken behind thickened bones
Skin like etch a sketch
couldn't leave sharp alone
Blackened ego strung
from high to low
Self-esteem is only so-so
Just wanna be numb
Countless errors
in my own way
Doing favors
from day to day
Heartless errands
People beggin' me to stay
"I gotta get outta here"
is all I could say
I'm malfunctioning
and i'm reminded everyday

i think one of the most hurtful emotions, aside from betrayal, is probably being utterly unappreciated and undervalued. With all the times I've experienced both, it's hard to keep a proper mindset. Keep on the right path and the rewards will eventually find you. You may need to have a "screw the world, this is for me" day now and again to do so, but it's ultimately worthwhile.
