The Field Full of Stone

By Deathkitten

Slowly walking through the field of stone
I always walk here, and I come alone
Here is home- only i'm not there
Mentally blank- for me, that's rare
Each time I visit the field of stone
No one bothers me, but i'm never alone
The sky always grey- as grey as tombstone
Underneath they lay, and at night some will roam
The fearful- they pray
When i'm on my knees, i've got nothing to say
I visit for peace, and to walk amongst my kind
and though my flesh hasn't turned
I know that I will find
the acceptance for which i've yearned
is right here and now
I always walk here, and I come alone
but alone I am never
in the field full of stone

I, too, await that time which leaves my mind silent for once; perhaps poets are mostly multitask thinkers and need the solitude of stones and words to silence them.
