Radios and Phonographs

By lupus tenebrae

Like an elder’s lamentation
comes to me on amber waves,
of radio and phonograph.

Neon lights and olden days
are reasons for the season’s night,
like an elder’s lamentation

for his country style muffins,
like the wish of silver platters
comes to me on amber waves.

As my sleep is casual
I catch the corpse of resonance,
of radio and phonograph.

I like how you write nostalgia in such an effective manner at your young age...a testament to the Old Man in your soul. Memories on amber waves is an idea I like very much, for several reasons. Thanks for the lullaby, Jared. Time to pour me a drink. Scholar

I know that white, random noise too and sometimes it speaks to me when the world needs to be drowned-out. Some very relatable audio devices mentioned in this period piece, thanks Wolfie, now I really feel ancient (but then I am - just like AM / FM), cheers!
