Mother Nature

By FrozenButterfly

One twist of her finger and the wind spun

Like spaghetti on a fork it twirled

Tighter than a ballerina’s bun

Faster than even she could ever swirl

One sob and a cascade of tears poured

North wind whistled like a boson’s pipe

Clouds opened up and rain beat the ground which roared

Splitting like fruit that’s become over-ripe

One laugh and fire erupted with glee

Raging and sweeping as the meticulous broom

Would whisk all away until it’s bare and empty

The fire crackled and feasted, red impending doom

One step and the ground trembled and strained

As a slave bears the burden of his master’s load

Suffering, buckling silent and pained

Ripping slight threads of land so recently sowed

One flick of a wrist and a burst brought the sea

Upward and rising as a glorious star

Shining and dancing yet a deathly beauty

Adored only when viewed from afar

One smile and the moon reveals her face

Eyes brighter than stars, glinting mischievously

A frown and everything’s erased

Mother Nature always moving adventurously
