Five Miles from Happiness

By BetaWolfinVA

A work inspired by Exhaled Exultations

on great eloquence much depends,
simple words more warming than a blanket,
and their absense more chilling than ice
-
I was five miles from happiness
as the center of my universe drove
passed work and house on I nine-five
-
while i was waiting for my food
staying off the road so i could not see
her, that is/was my one true love
-
i take the taco bell home to
one i am still bound to in lonelienss
shaken, sleepless, dreaming of her
