Ghost

By Meadowhawk

 Little spirit of the past
dressed in weathered frocks
of yellowed lace
your green eyes trickling
tiny crystal tears
for times long passed
happiness long forgotten
and the lives of loved ones
blown into the darkness
by a cold uncaring breeze

Walk the silent cobblestones
with tattered ribbons holding tight
your unkempt locks of matted gold
while you sadly search
through the cool gossamer mists
for precious misplaced trinkets
and the comforting warmth
of a tender smile

Forgotten maiden
child lost in time
wandering ever lonely
your dark and empty corridors
with only the silent stars above
and the plaintive sighs
of an injured wind for company
while you seek in vain
for that which has long since
melted into the shadows of eternity
your only comfort the familiar touch
of a worn and ragged teddy bear

Sounded torn between adulthood and childhood, but then the girls will always be momma's little babies - so we do what we can, cheers friend, and long-time no see!
