Crying With Private Malone

By BetaWolfinVA

My wife and i were
going to the grocery
when her radio
just changed to a new station
quite without being told to
.
her jeep commander
limited two thousand six
must have crossed wires
many times over past years
we have had it in the shop
.
her telling me this
has been happening over
the past week has brought
Riding With Private Malone
sung by David Ball to mind
.
playing her the song,
as usual, makes me cry
baffled, she asks why.
she has lived with me for years
she does not know the answer?
.
simple song about
one that gave all in Vietnam
leaving a note for
his cars next owner if he
did not make it home from there
.
as i am crying
my wife puts her hand in mine
i wish i loved her
as much as she does deserve
she knows i still love raven

I guess its a good thing that the spell checker and the link too screwed up, its a poem now and not prose.

Some songs can affect us like that and it might be something unexplainable that was unique to the first time we heard it play, cheers HH!
