Iron Heart

By HeadpatSlut

A heart of stone that hides a spark-
Battle born, in fire baptized-
A sword song that cries with the voice of a lark-
In waters of rage, the great ship Courage capsized-

Of passions unsung, and great vows unspoken-
The birds of inspiration fly in the field known as “Thought”-
Lost in failed romance, even today your heart is broken-
See yourself inside the chasm, and return when you are caught-

Within conviction rests a heart of stone-
Cutting through regret with every spoken word-
Sacrificing happiness, blood, flesh and bone-
For Iron-heart, all that remains is the Glory of the Sword.

...this spans an era of romance & legend. for the solitary warrior, the battle never ends...

Would have preferred some lines of repeating, or equal length to get the feel of the metrics maybe. Nevertheless a fine read and powerfully proclaimed, cheers!
