Slow Dancer on the River (Poem... Free Form?)

By BetaWolfinVA

Slow dancer on the river
quiet sounds of classical music playing
narrative half heard
-
I think of the reclaimed swampland
passing by, covered in mans dreams
and dashed hopes, to the future
-
sitting at the table, eating,
I ponder mans inventiveness as
passengers and military men fly over head
going on their way
-
I look across the table to see my
grandmother, mother and sister
enjoying some time on the river
