Up-skirting a noun

By cadymae

The first uncoupling was furtive,
almost guilty, but mainly secretive.
I took  "love" away from "Jesus"
The result was freeing...  for I and Thou.

I then began to detach emotion from words
whereever I found them bound up unthinkingly

It left me adrift but thinking.

Staring at the agape all around

who wonder at meanings they were bequeathed
packed into words they use without meaning

The definitions they inherited no longer define them
but the words are coupling behind their backs.
Making new meanings where none existed before.

Crying to be fed and endlessly hungry and growing,
the open maw of the world awaits new tastes
drip-wrung from old habits by sleek devices

Kohelet knew there is nothing new.
Oil your hair and enjoy the sun.

This poem was just fantastic, as though there were other qualities ruled out. So I'll say it was simply fantastic, but then it was far from simple. You point is well taken; now you can have it back dear lady and thanks for the loaner, cheers!

A little bit esoteric, but this is an intellectual piece.I see the nihilism in Kohelet...and albeit the somewhat cryptic nature of the piece, it has it's own inherent value.Well written.

My Rabbi once called me a Nihilist. I laughed and said: "Dude! I have a Rabbi. How nihilistic can I be?"

Definitely not what I expected to read. I like much of your word selection. Thank you for sharing.
