let me melt
into frost painted windows
so when the sun rises
all the winking crystals
slip into my every breath
coating my whispers
in snowflake elegance




let me lay
in a forgotten love note
curled around every frayed edge
stretched out and languid
along every worn fold 
letting the script
fuse to my every sigh




let me rest
among flowers set in a milk can
smiling softly among the colors
as their heads nod in reverence
quiet affirmations of hope
etched along their stems
to leaves bending with the wind




let me dream
of these too soft things
of being as graceful
as lotus seeds sleeping 
in an antique ivory teacup
against the frosted window
beside the forgotten love note
beneath the nodding flowers




just for a while




when reality is too heavy





let me
