Surfing Life
By cadymae
Staying ahead of the curl
Hands moving sure.
Feet braced, toes
furled.
Handling your world.
The others seem slow.
Their thoughts low.
Their entertainments show
They'll stay
in your tow.
Where to though?
Eyes scanning the prow
Knowing only now
Assured of the how
But missing the "Wow!"
Minimal concern apparent
Shoulders squared with talent
Bestowed upon by slant and
Cascading agents
Sing
to be sure you're alive
knowing now you'll survive
Events
conspiring to contrive
You arrive smooth and with style
Step light. Disembark.
Stay assured of the mark
You'll strike
while others remark
"No! Don't! The drop-in's too stark!"
Cascading droplets stream down
Release sunrays in star-crowns
Sparkle upon skin tanned brown
Animal strength lost. Then found.
