my world burns to ash

Something like love 
nothing like love
or we would let each other go
completely to live the lives
as husbands and wives
fathers and mothers
separate from each other
but oh,
isn't that separateness
for you and i an illusion?

The two of us intertwined
that bond cannot sever
lifetimes apart and still
drawn together as much now as ever
 just minimal contact 
can brighten our days
lighting the mundane shadows
with bright neon rays
casting doubts into corners
where once there were none
adding questions about 
the things that we've done
yet we cannot help
that we gave it a try
fighting against the pull
to be at each others side
and it transcends what is written
and what is prescribed
we cannott fight
what is ripping out from the inside
and I don't want to feel this way
I don't know why i do
but somehow I realize
there is no me without you
and that truth
it has struck me as utterly insane
but I can't reason
or rationalize you
out of my brain
and in some ways
I look at the path I have taken 
and wonder if, for you,
it would all be forsaken
and I know this phenomenon
doesn't happen to most
to be haunted and spellbound
by the soul of a ghost.

As the years have passed
our passions have paralleled
the magnetism between us 
cannot be quelled
the pill of my everyday life
was more easily swallowed
when You were Master
sharing space that was hallowed.
now somehow instead
I feel empty with desolation
my soul aches with melancholy
for our connection
the confusion, it muddles 
my waking thoughts
at all of the chaos
these feelings have wrought
and I am not strong enough 
to overcome
these feelings for You
that burn bright as the sun
deliciously singed
 by your flames wicked lash
consumed by our fire
my whole world burns to ash.
