Our Secret Colonnades

By lupus tenebrae

Yes, this was our place
between autumn’s colonnades,
but we let it burn

in rusted, orange fire,
swearing the flames had turned red.

Flowers for you, me,
someone else entirely,
grow in threes, yellow,

the touch of pollination
lingers on the closest two.
