Your December Scent

By lupus tenebrae

I thought your scent had gone for good,
romanced the air, from where I stood
and tasted freedom in the rain;
kissing on December's snowfall,
watching trees and starlight snowball
in the tears you couldn't feign,
singing in your lost acoustics
in a way that seemed authentic,
sending Luna her dream to wane.

    I adored this. The scent part in particular. Rarely is it our noses catch the scent of something gone long and can remember the instances in which we embraced it. The memory is blithely beautiful, encrypted with emotions.
