The ruination of the little black Tarn

By cadymae

I've been breached.

A not-knight has brought light
to my cool dark Tarn.

Rimmed with knife-edged shoals,
embedded shards pointed inward and out,
my inky well of darkness is now stained
with bright smears of affection.

Not every shadow needs illumination.

Why reveal what instantly needs covering again?

Love isn't a cure-all. You can't pull a dent out of a soul.
Leave me my dim insights
                                                         and silent dusk all about.

I've installed night-lights where I need them.
